Cottage Revamp for Airbnb in Chirripó, Costa Rica
In this project, I revitalized a charming cottage in Chirripó, Costa Rica, to create a unique and inviting space that attracts Airbnb guests. The overall concept embraced a farmhouse chic vibe that leveraged the cottage’s existing wooden structure, enhancing its rustic charm while ensuring sustainability.
To reduce waste, I repurposed existing furniture and materials wherever possible. Instead of purchasing a new couch, I had the current one recovered in a more aligned color. In the kitchen, I transformed a clunky shelving unit, cutting it down to create a stylish storage solution for plates. Accent walls were added in the bathroom, and the closet in the bedroom was repainted an off-white to brighten the space.
Reduce & Reuse

Make it Memorable
Throughout the cottage, I wove in local plants and decorated with found organic objects, infusing the design with the energy of the land and promoting a fresh, healthy atmosphere. Understanding the owner’s profession as a masseuse and functional movement expert, we repurposed the upper area into a yoga and movement room. This space not only reflects his essence but also allows him to offer his services as part of the Airbnb experience.
I love working with Airbnb spaces to make them unique and help you achieve a higher rental rate. If you're interested in exploring how we can transform your space together, feel free to reach out!
